Mamelodi Sundowns striker Katlego Mphela could be back in the new year, but remains doubtful for the African Cup of Nations in January.

Although Mphela has resumed light jogging, he is expected to resume full training only once the league resumes after the Christmas break, the club has reported.
The former SuperSport United marksman has not played since his knee was operated on in June.
Mphela last played when Bafana Bafana drew in Botswana in a 2014 World Cup qualifier in Gaborone in June.
Morgan Gould, Thulani Serero and Daylon Classen are also doubtful for the Nations Cup.
The 27-year-old Mphela has scored 43 goals in 95 games for Sundowns and has 23 goals in 47 matches for Bafana Bafana.
