The Three Lions dismantled San Marino 5-0 at Wembley to go top of Group H, with Manchester United strike duo Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck both bagging a brace.

It was a momentous night for Rooney, who lead his country for only the second time in his career. However, Steven Gerrard should resume his captaincy duties against the Poles after completing his one-match ban.

Liverpool full-back Glen Johnson will also return from suspension, along with rested trio Joleon Lescott, James Milner and Jermain Defoe.

However, Theo Walcott is ruled out after a heavy challenge from San Marino goalkeeper Aldo Simoncini left the Arsenal forward with a bruised chest and ribs.

Chelsea duo Frank Lampard (calf) and Ryan Bertrand (illness) remain sidelined, but Blues left-back Ashley Cole is in contention.

Meanwhile, the White Eagles will go in search of only their second win of the group stage, and will be buoyed by their 1-0 home win over South Africa on Friday in an international friendly.

It was a less than impressive performance from Waldemar Fornalik's men against the South Africans, although injuries hampered his selections.

He also opted to name star striker Robert Lewandowski on the bench, with the Borussia Dortmund attacker likely to once again take up his spot up front against the English.

Poland captain Jakub Blaszczykowski, however, is definitely unavailable due to an ankle injury suffered while representing Dortmund.

Arsenal goalkeeping pair Wojciech Szczesny (foot) and Lukasz Fabianski (shoulder) are both still injured, so Przemyslaw Tyton is expected to start in goal.

Eugen Polanski's participation is also doubtful after he withdraw from the Polish squad last week to attend to personal matters.
