Sessegnon: Happy

Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill finds talk of Stephane Sessegnon being unhappy at the club strange, especially with the form he is in.

The Benin international has been one of the Black Cats' stand-out players this season, but there have been constant rumours flying about that he is not comfortable in the North East.

Sessegnon has been linked with a host of clubs, most notably Arsenal and Paris St Germain, who he left for the Wearsiders in January 2011. However, O'Neill is determined to keep him at the Stadium of Light and claims that, contrary to popular belief, the attacking midfielder "couldn't be happier".

"Sess has been playing brilliantly," O'Neill told The Journal. "I have read he's unhappy the whole time, but he couldn't be happier, believe it or not. I don't think he can play like that if he's unhappy.

"He's in great form and I'm sure I won't stop the speculation no matter what I try. We want to keep him at the football club because he's been pretty brilliant."

The 27-year-old playmaker has been instrumental in the club's Premier League revival since the departure of Steve Bruce in November last year and the subsequent arrival of O'Neill, whose side have dug themselves out of the relegation mire and into mid-table safety in 11th place on 42 points with five games to go in the season.
